A group of seven Aboriginal men and women are making the journey from Vancouver to Ottawa on foot, raising awareness about the unsolved murders of Aboriginal women.

The four-month journey, called Walk-4-Justice, will make a stop in Thunder Bay Saturday afternoon.

Thunder Bay organizer, Sharon Johnson, lost her sister 20 years ago when she was murdered in a case that remains unsolved. Johnson said more than 3,000 Aboriginal women across Canada have been victims of unsolved murders.

Organizers of Walk-4-Justice hope to bring attention to government officials, as a rally is planned for Ottawa.

Johnson said when the group gets to Thunder Bay they will walk from Vickers Park to City Hall to help bring attention to the issue.

Johnson will join the walkers for the Thunder Bay leg of their journey. They're expected to arrive in Thunder Bay between 4 and 6 p.m. Saturday, with the welcome gathering being held at Vickers Park.
