THUNDER BAY -- A section of a busy Thunder Bay street remained closed to traffic Tuesday morning as the result of a broken watermain.
A city Roads Division spokesperson said the break was discovered late Monday on River Street near Hill Street.
After initially restricting traffic to two lanes, the city eventually closed all four lanes to allow a repair crew to dig up the road safely.
Traffic including numerous school buses and city buses were forced to take detours.
Repairs were expected to be completed by early Tuesday afternoon.
