UPDATE: Two victims identified in fatal West Arthur Street collision

THUNDER BAY - Police have confirmed that a male driver and female passenger on a motorcycle were killed in a two vehicle collision Friday evening.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police media release, the collision occurred at approximately 7 p.m. at the intersection of Arthur Street and Highway 130. Police said the collision involved a pick-up truck travelling through the intersection and a motorcycle travelling westbound on Arthur Street. The driver of the motorcycle, 49-year-old, Mario Jacob, and passenger, 52-year-old Renata Misztal, were pronounced dead on scene. 

The collision temporarily closed the intersection and OPP continue to investigate. 

The intersection has since been re-opened.
