Westgate student wins Union Gas scholarship

A Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute student has been given a $5,000 annual scholarship from Union Gas’ parent company Spectra Energy Corp.

A Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute student has been given a $5,000 annual scholarship from Union Gas’ parent company Spectra Energy Corp.

Allison Ross was one of eight students nationwide chosen for the award, which she can use to pay for tuition at an accredited college or University in Canada or the United States.

Recipients are chosen by an independent panel based on criteria that includes academic performance, leadership and participation in school and community activities.

Ross could potentially receive up to $20,000 over four years.
