Markets: 

The Thunder Bay Country Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition: 425 Northern Ave. head on down to buy local groceries, crafts, and gifts from the talented, hard-working local people who created them.     

The Peddlers Pop-up Market is happening at the hub Bazaar on Victoria Ave East from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The hub Bazaar is a business incubator with anchor vendors and pop-up peddlers every Saturday! There's a cafe, eatery and even a museum!     

Visit Northern Nature Trading, a special kind of swap shop!  Bring in items you've found in nature and trade them for things in the collection. You can trade things made by nature like rocks, shells, fossils and pine cones. Trading is based on points; you are awarded points for what you know about your item, what makes it different from similar ones and the quality (clean, good condition). Children and Youth Events: 

Hey Thunder Bay! Want to play with Plus-Plus? Come by Toy Sense on Saturday at 309 Bay Street for a Plus-Plus Build event. Whether this is your first or hundredth time playing with Plus-Plus, stop by between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Includes a huge amount of open Plus-Plus pieces for your child to play with. 

Festivals: 

Wake the Giant Music Festival is one of the most significant events in Northwestern Ontario. We aim to bring together different people, age groups, music lovers and festival fans at one big event that brings the community closer. The music festival celebrates all cultures, explicitly focusing on Indigenous people and promoting Indigenous musicians. A significant component of this festival is showing off Indigenous culture and our youth showing off their talent and culture. 11:30 a.m. to 11:55 p.m. at Marina Park. 

Live Music: 

 Consortium Aurora Borealis serves up a feast of elegant eighteenth-century music for flute and harpsichord from Germany and France as the first concert of its 45th Anniversary Season. You are invited to the Afro-Latina-House party to celebrate culture and heritage, with music, dance and incredible vibes on September 16th! Back with a bang, head down for the Afro-Latina-house back to school event at Nortenos Cantina. Featuring Toronto’s finest deejay_abby back in town playing the hottest afro-house sounds and the hottest Latin hits all night! so get your dancing shoes on to celebrate being back to school for another year! Nortenos Cantina, 235 Red River Rd 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
