Saturday:
Get ready for the ultimate tug-of-war challenge. At the Wasaya Hangar at the Thunder Bay International Airport, teams will race to pull a plane weighing over 26,000 lbs. for 50 feet, with the fastest time winning! The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. All proceeds from the Wasaya United Way Plane Pull will be divided between the Northwestern Ontario Indigenous Youth Achievement and Recognition Awards (IYARA) and the United Way of Thunder Bay, supporting local social service agencies.
Enjoy some country hospitality and support local businesses selling their wares at Nolalu Country Market + Trade Show + Flea Market. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Nolalu Community Centre, 2266 on highway 588 in the heart of Nolalu, Ontario (a 30-minute drive west of Thunder Bay). Please bring cash in small denominations, there is no ATM on site.
The annual Toys for Tots Motorcycle Ride, a thrilling and heartwarming event that brings together motorcycle enthusiasts from all over Thunder Bay to support children in need this Christmas season will start at 12 p.m. The meeting point is Thunder Bay Harley Davidson.
The second day of racing for the Thunder Bay Truck Centre Dirt Track Nationals at Thunder City Speedway gets underway at 4 p.m.
Sunday:
If Mother Nature doesn't cooperate on Friday or Saturday, the Thunder Bay Truck Centre Dirt Track Nationals will wrap up at Thunder City Speedway. The start time for the event will be announced on the track's social media pages.
All Weekend Long:
ThunderCon is a fan run pop-culture convention that started in 2015. ThunderCon brings celebrity guests and a huge variety of vendors and artists, celebrating pop culture in all its forms. It will be held at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
