THUNDER BAY -- A 20-year-old woman has been charged with second-degree murder in the city’s seventh homicide of 2016.

Kirsten Faith Wesley was arrested following the death of 20-year-old Leslie Noah Moonias, who was found dead on McKellar Street on Thursday morning.

Police, in a release issued on Friday, said the homicide was a result of a domestic violence-related incident.

The suspect was picked up in the area of Ogden and McKenzie streets and detained for questioning, arrested later at the Thunder Bay Police Service station and remanded into custody.

A postmortem on the body has yet to be completed and police say the investigation is ongoing.
