Closing arguments wrapped up at the Superior Court of Justice today in a complex assault case dating back to 1997.

Patricia Magiskan filed a civil lawsuit against the Thunder Bay Police Services Board, after she was charged with assaulting an officer and obstructing justice 14 years ago.

Magiskan was acquitted of the charges in the fall of 2003.  Her lawyer, Francis Thatcher, said his client is looking for general and punitive damages from the Police Board.

A ruling in case trial could take several months
