A stop-work order has been lifted at a construction site in Shuniah.
Sudbury-based company Tera North Construction is building a pair of new bridges over the McKenzie River, as part of the province's highway four-laning project. Gustavo Argueta, 24, died on June 24 when the bucket lift he was working with tipped over, causing him to fall from more than 50 feet to the ground.
The Ministry of Labour imposed a stop-work order soon after, calling for a compliance plan, worker re-training and an inspection by engineers on equipment platforms.
Ministry of Labour official Matt Blajer said the order was lifted Thursday afternoon, as Terra North complied with the orders and retrained its workers on the use of elevated platforms.
Blajer added that while work has resumed on the bridge, the Ministry of Labour continues its investigation into the fatal incident.
