Police report that 52 charges have been laid this year for assaults against a peace officer, including assaults with a weapon, assaults with intent to resist arrest and assaults causing bodily harm. 

All drivers are reminded to reduce speed, watch for workers, and drive with extra care in construction zones.

The Township of Ignace will soon receive its first $1.5 million payment from the Nuclear Waste Management Organization after completing the willingness process.
