The paint has already dried on the city’s newest bike lanes. City workers already painted the lines for the bike lanes on Arundel Street early Friday morning with plans to paint Hudson Street, Vickers Street and Huron Avenue.

Northbound traffic on the James Street Bridge will be closed while workers make some repairs. The city announced that the northbound lane on the swing bridge will be closed from Aug. 7 at 6 a.m. until Aug. 8.

Driver charged in fatal crash

A driver involved in a fatal July 4 two-vehicle collision on Highway 11/17 is facing charges. Sixty-year-old Deborah Schneider of Kenora died in the crash, after being rushed from the scene to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

City prepares for major construction projects
