THUNDER BAY - A strategy to move animals out of the city’s shelter appears to be working. Thunder Bay Animal Services this week lowered its adoption fees in the hopes more animals taking up space at the shelter could find new, permanent homes.

Police have identified the two men killed on Sunday in a highway collision near Mutrie Township, Ont. Saskatchewan’s Adrian Chapados, 37, was driving a westbound Ford Mustang that collided with an eastbound tractor trailer.

THUNDER BAY -- A man accused of sexually assaulting an intellectually disabled man will appear in bail court again on May 29. Ronald John Fossum, 55, is charged with sexual assault, breach of probation and failure to comply with an undertaking.

Bombardier to begin contract talks with union June 10

THUNDER BAY -- Contract talks between Bombardier and unionized employees at their local plan have been officially scheduled. The bargaining members of each side will exchange proposals on June 10, with negotiations set to begin on June 16.
