Brian Adams Jr. continued his impressive run Friday at the Northern Ontario man’s provincial curling playdowns in Schumacher, Ont.

The Thunder Bay skip scored a pair in the 10th end to knock off Sault St. Marie’s Robbie Gordon, running his record to a perfect 5-0 with two draws remaining.

Gordon erased a two-stone deficit in the eighth, the Adams Jr. rink, which includes lead Joel Adams, second Jordan Potts and third Brennan Wark, blanked the ninth with the hammer.

Gordon fell to 2-3 with the loss.

Three other Thunder Bay teams stayed in the hunt in Friday’s Draw 5. Dylan Johnston scored a 6-4 win over fellow Lakehead skip Trevor Bonot to improve to 6-4, good for a four-way tie for second place. Jeff Currie joined the 3-2 logjam with a 6-4 win over Thunder Bay’s Bryan Burgess, who also sits at 3-2.

Mike Jakubo downed Dan Lemieux 8-6 to improve to 3-2 as well.
