FARGO, N.D. –
The Thunder Bay Tim Hortons bantam A Queens are returning home from the Scheels Sports International tournament in Fargo, N.D., with the third place trophy in their possession.

The bantam A’s claimed the bronze after defeating Edina White of suburban Minneapolis, Minn., 4-2 Sunday.

Emma Johnston staked Thunder Bay to the lead in the contest with a first period marker assisted by Gaby Andreacchi and Laura Van Dyk.

The Queens then went up 2-0 in the second stanza thanks to Mackenzie Cambly, who finished off a Jada Leblanc feed.

After Edina got on the board to pull within one, Kaiden Lanteinge made it 3-1.

An Olivia Cava power play tally upped the cushion in the third before Edina added one more later on during a power play to wrap things up.

Marissa Brosseau picked up the win in net.

Earlier in the day the Queens fell by a similar 4-2 count to the host Fargo Freeze in semifinal action.

Grace Grosjean and Johnston scored in the setback with Brosseau suffering the defeat.

Meanwhile the peewee Queens wrapped up play at the Cabin Fever Classic in Osseo-Maple Grove, Minn., with a 2-1 shootout victory over the Forest Lake Rangers.

Kaiya Kamande scored in regulation for Thunder Bay while Alessia Ricciardi notched the lone goal in the shootout to secure the win.

Mykaila George was in net for the Queens in the triumph.
