SHAWINIGAN, QUE – It was an up-and-down day for Hailey Beaudry’s rink at the 2018 New Holland Canadian Junior Women’s Curling Championship.

Beaudry, who hails from Fort Frances, Ont., gave up a five-ender in the fourth and three more in the sixth to Rachel O’Connor’s Prince Edward Island rink and dropped their opener 13-6. But the Northern Ontario squad rebounded in the evening draw in Shawinigan, Que, despite giving up steals of one in three separate ends.

Beaudry, lead Erin Tomalty, second Emily Cooney and third Kendra Lemieux jumped in front 6-1, scoring four in the third, and added three more in the seventh to earn a 10-7 triumph over Sydney Brilz’s team from British Columbia to even her record at 1-1 in the Pool B standings.

She’ll face the Northwest Territories on Sunday afternoon in Draw 5.
