Beaudry moves on at Canadian juniors

Team Northern Ontario advances to championship round after finishing 3-3 in round-robin play.

SHAWINIGAN, Quc.  – Northern Ontario is back to .500 at the Canadian Junior Women’s Curling Championship.

The win ensured the team moved on to the championship round.

Skip Hailey Beaudry dropped her first match of the day on Tuesday, falling 7-4 to Emma Wallingford’s Ontario rink, but rebounded in the nightcap, trouncing Nunavut’s Sadie Pinksen 12-2 to improve to 3-3 at the week-long event in Shawinigan, Que.

Beaudry, whose team includes lead Erin Tomalty, second Emily Cooney and third Kendra Lemieux, earned the eighth and final spot in the championship round and will take on Quebec (4-2) in the Wednesday evening draw, their only match of the day.
