MANKATO, Minn. — Jack Pineau turned in a quality start, but it wasn't enough for the Thunder Bay Border Cats to pick up their second win of the season.

The Thunder Bay product threw six innings, striking out eight, but the Mankato MoonDogs scored a 4-2 victory over the Border Cats on Tuesday night.

Pineau held the MoonDogs scoreless for the first five innings, but surrendered four runs in the sixth through a two-run single by Elijah Borjas, another run after an error, and a Joe Hauser RBI single. Two of those runs were scored as unearned against Pineau.

Dalton Mullins and Jackson Bonneville each drove in a run for Thunder Bay in the seventh, but that was as close as the Border Cats bats would get to drawing even.

The Border Cats (1-1) continue their season-opening road trip by travelling to face the Rochester Honkers on Wednesday. The Border Cats will return to Port Arthur Stadium for their home opener on June 6.
