MARSHALL, Minn. – The Thunder Bay Border opened their home schedule 750 kilometres from Port Arthur Stadium, but managed to keep their winning ways alive on Saturday night.

Austin Ledin singled home a pair of runs in the seventh and later scored on Colin Rosenbaum’s RBI single as the Border Cats doubled up the Rochester Honkers 4-2 to capture their second straight Northwoods League contest.

The neutral-site game was played in Marshall, Minn., the Border Cats unable to open at home because of ongoing stadium repair delays.

Patrick Ryan pitched into the sixth for the Cats (2-3) giving up one earned run before leaving with two outs for reliever Michael Bohlke, who grabbed the win out of the bullpen.

North Carolina’s Brady Hill tossed a scoreless ninth for the save, his first of the campaign.

Eddie Mathis was tagged with the loss for the Honkers, surrendering six hits and three runs in one inning of relief of starter Ryan Thompson, who gave up just three hits and one run in six innings of work.

Rochester slipped to 2-3 with the loss.
