THUNDER BAY -- The Thunder Bay Border Cats still can’t buy a win.

The Northwoods League team on Friday dropped its 11th straight contest to start the 2016 campaign, falling 4-3 at Port Arthur Stadium to the visiting La Crosse Loggers.

The last-place Cats took a rare early lead, scoring runs in the first and fifth innings to go up 2-0. But the Loggers roared back with four in the sixth off Thunder Bay starter Jordan Thompson and hung on for the one-run victory.

Kevin Collard delivered the big blast for the Loggers, slamming a three-run home run in the sixth to put the visitors in front for good.
Gui Gingras, Jordan Gillerman and Riley Bernsdorf drove in the Thunder Bay runs.

Mark Nowaczewski tossed seven innings of seven-hit ball to pick up the victory. Thompson was charged with the loss and fell to 0-2.
