Border Cats drop fifth straight in road loss to Willmar

WILLMAR, Minn. -- Devin Foyle and Danny Meyer did most of the damage, driving in three runs apiece on Friday night to lead the first-place Willmar Stingers past the Thunder Bay Border Cats 9-1.

Foyle cleared the bases with a double in the third, then tripled to left in the fifth and came home to score on a Brandon Perez single.
The loss was the fifth straight for the Border Cats (3-7).

Cameron Churchill lasted just four innings on the mound for Thunder Bay, an outing that swa him touched for seven runs on eight hits and three walks.

Ty Tice pitched a gem for the Stingers, leaving with two outs in the ninth after Anthony Borcato singled home Michael Papierski with the Cats only run.

Willmar (7-3) leads Eau Claire by half a game atop the Northwoods League North Division standings.
