THUNDER BAY -- The Thunder Bay Border Cats have hired Taylor Morris to serve as the team’s hitting coach this summer.

Morris at present is an assistant coach at Dordt College in Sioux Centre, Iowa.

"Taylor is a young and hungry coach that is and will continue to advance in this game. He is an excellent hitting coach that will be able to help each of our hitters out on a daily basis. Each hitter is different and he will be hands on with each hitter,” said Cats manager Mitch Feller, in a release issued on Wednesday by the team.

"He brings a wealth of knowledge from being a two way player in college and several years of coaching including winning a summer collegiate league last summer as a manager."

Morris has coached high school ball since 2012 and as a players was a three-time all-conference player at Northwestern and a Iowa 1A Baseball Player of the Year in high school.
