THUNDER BAY – Anthony Brocato was a perfect 4-for-4 and scored three times on Saturday night to lead the Thunder Bay Border Cats to a third straight victory.

Borcato bashed a pair of doubles and is now hitting at a .346 clip for the Cats, who rapped out 13 hits in a 10-4 win over the visiting Rochester Honkers at Tbaytel Park.

Shane Shepard also crossed the plate three times for Thunder Bay, walking twice and singling as the Border Cats rallied from a 4-1 deficit to cop the triumph.

Starter Shannon Broussard allowed four runs on six hits in six innings of work, but the win went to reliever Ben Hoffman, who entered in the seventh and shut the Honkers down over the final three innings, allowing just one hit to pick up the win.

Reliever Brett Herber took the loss for the Honkers, who have lost seven straight and dropped beneath the Border Cats and can now lay a dubious claim as the worst team in the Northwoods League in 2016 with an 18-47 overall record.

Thunder Bay’s recent hot streak has them at 19-45 this season, an accomplishment considering the team started 0-15.

The Border Cats are 13-17 in the second half.

Thunder Bay will take on the Honkers again on Sunday, the team’s regular-season home finale.
