Dylan Butler is coming home.

The Thunder Bay product is the latest recruit hauled in by the Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey team after a three-year career in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

Butler, 21, scored 21 goals and added 35 assists in 54 games last season, split between the Portage Terriers and the Dauphin Kings. He led the Kings with seven goals and 14 points in 13 playoff games and had four points at the RBC Cup, where they lost in the semifinal.

"I'm happy to be coming home and to finally be playing in my hometown." said Butler. "I'm looking forward to playing at the next level. I had a great time on and off the ice in Dauphin. It was a fantastic experience, especially getting to the RBC Cup,” Butler says in a release on the MJHL team’s website.

In other Thunderwolves news, former goalie coach Colin Zulianello is resuming the role next fall under second-year coach Bill McDonald.
The former pro spent last season with the Thunder Bay North Stars of the Superior International Junior Hockey League.

The Wolves have not officially announced the signing.
