The third time was not the charge for the Thunder Bay Border Cats as they still remain in search of their first win of the season.

A four-run fourth inning paced the Duluth Huskies to a 7-3 win over the Border Cats in Northwoods League action at Tbaytel Park on Thursday.

Thunder Bay starter Kevin Kane (0-1) was tagged for six runs through four innings of work as the Huskies raced out to an early 6-0 lead.

Duluth’s Daniel Gardner and Matt Brown each drove in a pair of runs in the winning effort.

The Border Cats attempted to rally, plating three runs in the fifth but that was all the offence they could muster.

Huskies starter Logan Browning (1-0) picked up the win surrendering three runs, two earned, over five innings.

The Lake Superior rivals will clash again on Friday night with first pitch scheduled at 7:05 p.m.
