Cats road trip starts with loss to Moondogs

The Border Cats (4-2) added a loss to their regular season record as they played the first game of a six-game road trip Wednesday night. The Cats fell 5-3 against the Mankato Moondogs.

The Cats fell 5-3 against the Mankato Moondogs. Starting pitcher John Tatum (0-1) was awarded the loss after the right-hander allowed five runs on seven hits in 5.1 innings.

Tyler Pryor hit a solo homerun during the game, which is his first of the season and the team’s second.

The Border Cats will try to get back to a winning stride Thursday when they continue their three-game series against the Moondogs.

That game is scheduled for Thursday night in Mankato at 8:05 p.m.
