THUNDER BAY -- The Country Fresh Meat and Deli Flyers downed the Natural Health Jets to complete their sweep of the regular season and playoff titles.
This is rare in Northwood as first-place teams most often falter in the round robin and only get to watch the championship game.
But the Flyers wasted no time getting to work as Jesse Ukrainec scored on the first shift and the Flyers added two more before the Jets responded late in the middle period.
The orange gang added more goals in the third and poured 25 shots on the Jets net. Along with Jesse, the Flyers got scoring from Alex Sancartier, Matthew Sacchetti and Josua Natri. Calum Grady and Peyton Bruin added assists.
For the Jets Cale Olviver and Zach McGinnis found the back of the net and assists went to Alythea Hill and Noah Mellis.
