Danton, the former NHLer who spent five years in jail for conspiracy to commit murder, scored twice on Monday to lead the Saint Mary’s Huskies to a 5-3 win over the St. Francis Xavier X-Men.

The win completed a three-game Atlantic University Sport hockey final sweep for the Huskies, who clinched the league’s sole berth at next week’s Cavendish University Cup. Saint Mary’s is the sixth of sixth teams to earn a trip to nationals, joining host Lakehead, Queen’s Cup champion McGill, UQTR, Canada West champs Alberta and Manitoba, which dropped a three-game set to the Golden Bears.

The Cavendish Cup begins on March 25 at Fort William Gardens.
