Daniel Del Paggio has found a new home on the East Coast.
The former Superior International Junior Hockey League player of the year signed a deal to play for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Saint John Sea Dogs. He scored 36 goals and added 69 assists for the North Stars in 2013-14 and was a finalist in the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s top forward and MVP races.
"Dan Del Paggio is an offensive-minded and gifted player that will challenge for a spot in our top six forwards," said Sea Dogs general manager Darrell Young said in a release on the team’s website. "We were able to acquire skill without costing the team prospects or draft picks, which allows us to build up our organizational depth.
"Not only is Dan gifted on the ice, but in the classroom, which reflects the type of driven individual that he is. He wants to succeed. Dan had other options, but felt that his greatest opportunity for success was in Saint John."
