Essa Jacobsen had a double-double in just her second OUA contest, vaulting the Lakehead Thunderwolves into the OUA women’s basketball win column Saturday night.
Jacobsen scored 12 points and hauled in 10 rebounds to lead LU to a 53-39 triumph over the host York Lions.
Ayse Kalkan led the Wolves with 13 points, while freshman Katelyn Andrea collected a game-high 11 rebounds.
Nadia Qahwash had 13 to top the Lions.
The Wolves return home next weekend for games against Carleton and Ottawa on Friday and Saturday night.
