Dryden 9, Thunder Bay 13 in initial 2017 CJHL rankings

THUNDER BAY, Ont. –
Rolling along with a solid six-game winning streak, Dryden GM Ice Dogs the Superior International Junior Hockey League standings continue to earn recognition in the 132-team Canadian Junior Hockey League by remaining among the nation’s elite in the initial Top 20 rankings, which were announced Monday.

Dryden was slotted No. 9 in the CJHL to begin 2017 while the rival Thunder Bay North Stars were slotted 13th overall in the lisitngs.

The GM Ice Dogs continue to lead the SIJHL standings with 53 points on a 25-4-3-0 record along with a winning percentage of .828.

As for the North Stars, they sit five points in arrears of Dryden while also having played one more game.

Thunder Bay enters play this week as 23-8-2-0 with 48 points and a respectable win mark of .727.

Collège Français de Longueuil (LHJQ) remains as the No. 1 club in the CJHL while the Powassan Voodoos (NOJHL) are unbeaten in 26 having won 25 and tied once and stay at No. 2 while the Brooks Bandits (AJHL), who have won eight straight, were ranked No. 3 overall.
