Dryden's Allkins named SIJHL player of the month

Ice Dogs star is riding an 11-game point-scoring streak.

DRYDEN -- The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Wednesday that Dryden GM Ice Dogs forward Braeden Allkins has been named its CCM Hockey performer of the month for January.

In eight games last month for the league-leading GM Ice Dogs, the 20-year-old native of Golden B.C. etched his name on the score sheet in all of them while notching goals in all but one, amassing 21 points in total on 10 tallies and 11 assists.

He also supplied a pair of game-winning markers for Dryden.

Currently riding an 11-game point streak, Allkins leads all SIJHL skaters in offensive production with 67 points on a league-best 33 goals along with 34 helpers.

Also earning consideration for the SIJHL’s CCM Hockey performer of the month award was Dylan Kooner, (F) Fort Frances Lakers; Parker Simonson, (F) Thief River Falls Norskies; Trevor Pereverzoff, (D) English River Miners; Brad Arabia, (F) Thunder Bay North Stars and Jack Stensgard, (F) Minnesota Iron Rangers.
