There will be eight new faces in the Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey line-up this season.

Coach Bill McDonald said Monday eight first-year players will join 18 returnees as he finalized the OUA squad’s roster.

Among the notable newcomers are former Thunder Bay North Stars forwards Matt Kaarela and Adam Restoule – the latter bringing Ontario Hockey League experience to the mix.

Other fresh faces up front include Cody Alcock, David Quesnele, Kelin Ainsworth and former Dryden Ice Dogs forward Paul Thompson.

McDonald also announced defenceman James DeLory, who spent his first season on the blue-line, will shift to forward in 2013-14.

Andrew Tessier and Nathan Bruyere are the two rookies joining the defensive corps, while goalie Justin McDonald will battle veteran Jeff Bosch in nets.

“Bosch looks motivated and is in good shape, but freshman Justin McDonald is pushing him, so that’s a good situation for us,” McDonald said in a release.
