THUNDER BAY -- The 47th annual Tom Thumb Tournament was the fun weekend wrap up for teams this past weekend.
This Elks 82’s hockey event showcased a weekend of fun hockey for the younger aged competitive teams Novice through Atom A ages. Teams from throughout Northwestern Ontario came from as far away as Atikokan and Red Lake to the west. While the East was represented by Nipigon, Geraldton, Longlac and Marathon, as well as most of the in-town Lakehead Minor hockey teams.
Games were spirited and much laughter was heard throughout the arenas, as children and parents had to opportunity to rekindle friendships and fun hearted rivalry. All in all, it was a great ending to the 2017-18 regular season.
Some will now move on to a short stint of 3-on-3 hockey and spring leagues.
