The
Nipigon Elks rallied from an early two-goal deficit to defeat
the Jr. B Stars
3-2 Thursday evening in Thunder Bay Jr. B/Juvenile/AAA Hockey
League action at
the Tournament Centre.
The Stars would jump out quickly with Dezi Legallais beating
Nipigon netminder
Ryan Williams just 48 seconds into the contest.
Two minutes later Travis Muller would score putting the home
side up a pair
after one period of play.
The Elks would get on the board 15:04 into the middle frame as
George Ossachuk
notched his second goal of the season to make it 2-1 after 40
minutes.
Nipigon would equalize with 6:31 remaining with a Zach Nuttall
marker to make
it 2-2.
Brandon Polhill would then complete the comeback for the
visitors at 14:59 of
the final frame slipping the puck past Stars’ starter Greg
Turner with the
eventual game-winner.
Shots of goal favoured the Stars 32-29.
League play continues Friday when the Elks return home to host
the Screaming
Eagles at the Nipigon Community Centre. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
