Matt Erdman has his first win as an OUA coach.
The Thunderwolves basketball bench boss rode Anthony McIntosh’s 21-point effort Saturday night to pull out a 79-73 road win over the York Lions.
Fourth-year guard Dwayne Harvey added 16 to go with five boards and four steals for the Wolves, who evened their record at 1-1.
Reserve guard Jamar Coke scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds coming off the bench for Lakehead, who led 32-21 at the half.
“I thought the boys came back tonight with a better focus to start the game,” Erdman said in a release. “Sloppy play down the stretch led to York hanging around, and that needs to get fixed up. Jamar, Nate (Wainwright) and Alex (Robichaud) gave us solid minutes off the bench.”
LU hosts three-time defending champion Carleton on Friday night at the Thunderdome. Ottawa follows on Saturday.
