Falcons win opener at OFSAA

SAULT STE. MARIE – Jared Kreiner hit a game-winning three-pointer with a dozen seconds left on the clock to lead the St. Ignatius Falcons to victory in their opener at the boys AA OFSAA basketball championship in Sault Ste.

Mitchell Davidson led the Falcons with 15 points in the 58-56 nail-biter. St. Ignatius led 34-26 at the half, but were outscored 30-6 by St. David in the third.

However the Falcons rebounded in the fourth to secure the win.

St. Ignatius, the sixth seed, moves on to play Toronto’s Crescent School, the 11th seed, on Day 2. Game time is 1 p.m.
