Ignatius rocked in quarterfinal match

SAULT STE. MARIE – The St. Ignatius Falcons finally met their match at the OFSAA boys basketball championship.

Thunder Bay School were thumped 66-30 by Windsor’s Hon. W.C. Kennedy Secondary School, ending their championship run in the quarterfinal round.

Ali Mansour led the way for Kennedy with a game-high 21 points. Austin Burchat topped all Falcons scorers with 13.

Earlier in the day Jared Kreiner poured in 22 points to lead St. Ignatius to a 52-48 overtime win over Toronto’s Crescent High School.

Kennedy on Wednesday will take on Thornlea in the semifinal round.
