The Minnesota Iron Rangers scored four unanswered goals Friday night and chalked up their second win in three days over the temporarily transplanted Thunder Bay North Stars.
Matt O’Dea potted the even-strength winner 1:31 into the second period, the first of three goals the Iron Rangers (17-8-2) would score in the middle stanza, and cruised to a 4-1 win at Port Arthur Arena.
The Stars were forced out of the Fort William Gardens digs for one night to accommodate the annual Santa Skate.
Sam Mancini, Jason Reynolds and Eric Madison also replied for the visitors.
Kenny Turner had the lone goal for the North Stars (16-5-1), who have lost three of four starts.
The two teams will try it again Saturday night, this time at the Gardens. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
