Thunder Bay’s Haley Irwin had a goal and an assist and Meghan Agosta netted five points for the second time in three outings, leading Canada to a 13-1 romp over Sweden in Olympic women’s hockey on Wednesday.

With the win the host Canadians finished a perfect 3-0 in round-robin play.

Agosta, who has a record-tying eight goals and four assists so far, wasn’t the only Canadian with a hot hand against the Swedes, the fourth-ranked country in the world.

Cherie Piper scored two goals and chipped in a pair of assists, while Gillian Apps was good for a pair and a helper.

Also scoring for Canada was Jayna Hefford, Hayley Wickenheiser, who had a five-point night, Sarah Vaillancourt, Marie-Philip Poulin and Tessa Bonhomme.

Katrina Timglas scored the sole Swedish goal, beating Charline Labonte at 12:16 of the third. Labonte took over from Kim St.-Pierre, who made four saves over 40 minutes.

Canada advances to the next round, though their opponent has yet to be determined.
