Jackson claims Canada Winter Games skiing gold; Hill wins silver in men's sprints

Jennifer Jackson, who skis for the National Development Centre-Thunder Bay team, has won Canada Winter Games gold. Jackson, a student at Lakehead University, won the woman’s cross-country sprint race in a time of 3:50.

Jackson, a student at Lakehead University, won the woman’s cross-country sprint race in a time of 3:50.97, outdistancing Quebec’s Katherine Stewart-Jones by nearly two seconds.

Fellow NDC-Thunder Bay teammate Scott Hill claimed silver in the men’s race, finishing runner-up to B.C.’s Colin Ferrie by 13 one-hundredths of a second. Evan Palmer-Charrette, who also skis for NDC-Thunder Bay, finished fifth, five seconds back of the winner.
