Ashley Kallos is back in contention at the Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

The lone Thunder Bay team at the women’s provincial curling championship, the Kallos foursome scored three in the ninth, then stole one more in the 10th to down four-time Ontario champion Sherry Middaugh 8-5 Wednesday night in Sault Ste. Marie.

The victory lifts Team Kallos, which includes lead Jessica Williams, second Laura Vieira and third Oye-Sem Won, to 2-2 and into a three-way tie for fourth with Middaugh and Tracy Horgan, who dropped Kallos 10-4 earlier in the day.

Allison Flaxey and Julie Hastings top the standings at 4-0, while Julie Reddick suffered her first loss of the week-long event, falling 9-1 to Flaxey in just six ends.

Kallos take on Bayview’s Hastings in Thursday’s morning draw and hometown curler Dawna Premo in the evening match.
