Kings fall to 1-2 at Pee Wee provincials

ESSEX, Ont. -- The Sun County Panthers broke open 1-1 tie with five unanswered goals to defeat the Thunder Bay Kings 6-1 Tuesday in Day 2 action at the All-Ontario Peewee Hockey Championship in Essex, Ont.

After Sun County took the lead three and a half minutes into the contest, Thunder Bay countered with the equalizer via the power play as Brady Butvin connected on the power play with assists going Kyler Smith and Max Mikus.

The Panthers, who added one late in the first, tacked on three more in the middle stanza to take control then finished off the win with one more in the third to wrap things up.

Carter George suffered the setback in net for the Kings.

Thunder Bay (1-2) is back at it Wednesday as they take on the Kitchener Jr. Rangers (0-2-1) at noon.
