The second time wasn’t so lucky for the Lady Thunderwolves basketball team.

A night after handily defeating the visiting McMaster Marauders, the Lakehead women fell a little flat in Saturday’s rematch.

They also ran into a hot hand, that of Taylor Smith, who pounded home 28 points to lead the Marauders to an 87-73 OUA triumph.

Taylor Chiarot chipped in 19 for the victors.

Tasia McKenna led the way for the Wolves, scoring 22, while Sarah Gordon had an even 10 to go with six rebounds.

The Wolves fell to 6-4 with the loss, while McMaster joined them in a tie for fourth place in the West Division with an identical record.
