U.S. college basketball’s loss is Lakehead’s gain.

The Thunderwolves rookie guard scored a career high 25 points Saturday night, leading LU to an upset 80-71 road win over the No. 8 Windsor Lancers to close out first-half play.

The Wolves doubled the Lancers 26-13 in the opening quarter, giving up the lead just twice in the contest before pulling away.

Fellow freshman Igor Lebov scored 15 and Alex Robichaud added a dozen off the bench for Lakehead (3-7).

Josh Collins paced the Lancers attack with 19, one of four Windsor starters to hit double digits.

The Lancers fell to 6-3 with the loss.
