Lakehead volleyball drops second straight game on the road

The Lakehead Thunderwolves volleyball team has cooled off on the road after a hot start at home. The Thunderwolves were hit with a straight sets loss (14-25, 15-25, 13-25) by the University of Toronto Varsity Blues in CIS play on Sunday.

The Thunderwolves were hit with a straight sets loss (14-25, 15-25, 13-25) by the University of Toronto Varsity Blues in CIS play on Sunday.

The loss is the second straight for Lakehead (2-2) after falling to Ryerson on Saturday.

In the contest, Lakehead committed 29 errors on 101 attempts.

Fifth-year seniors Jorie Daymond and Brittany Macleod were each limited to five points, while setter Sara Hudson contributed nine assists.

Toronto was led by 15 points from Jennifer Nelson, and Katie Lonergan had 15 digs defensively.

Next up for the Thunderwolves is a matchup against the McMaster Maruaders on the road in Hamilton next weekend.
