Thunder Bay’s Trevor Letowski will be behind the bench when Team OHL takes on the Russian national junior team next month.

The Windsor Spitfires coach will inherit a team that includes 24 players drafted in the first round of the NHL draft, including Nick Sukuki of the Owen Sound Attack, Logan Stanley of the Kitchener Rangers and Robert Thomas of the London Knights.

The two-game Ontario portion of the Russian team’s tour opens on Nov. 9 in Owen Sound and wraps up four days later in Sudbury.

Letowski will be assisted by fellow former NHLer Todd Gill.

He’ll serve as an assistant coach for Canada’s national junior team later this year.

The Russians will also play two-game sets against all-star teams from the Western Hockey League and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
