Thunder Bay’s own Eric Brown will make his Border Cats debut tonight, team officials announced Saturday.

The local pitcher will make his debut start against defending league champions the Rochester Honkers (2-1). The game is scheduled to start at 6:35 p.m. at Port Arthur Stadium and will kick off a two-game series against the Honkers.

The righthanded pitcher just completed his junior season at the University of British Columbia. Playing in the United States NAIA West Division, Brown compiled a 7-2 record and a 3.92 earned run average with the T-Birds.

The Cats are now 2-0 to start the season after a rainout Friday night abbreviated their three-game series against the Duluth Huskies.
