THUNDER BAY -- The Lakehead cross-country teams are headed to Kingston, Ont. this weekend to race in the Queen’s University Invitational. Both the men's and women's teams will compete on Saturday at Fort Henry Hill.

"This is our first race against other OUA schools and will be a good chance to see where we are in comparison,” said coach Kip Sigsworth.

Last year at the Queen’s Open, the women placed fifth overall while the men’s team placed third with Kevin Tree winning top spot in the individual category.

The men’s team is coming off a successful performance from two weekends ago at the Blugold Invite, finishing fifth The team will be looking to improve from the Blugold as it continues to prepare for the upcoming OUA championship.

“With only two weeks to go until the OUA championships, this will be our final opportunity to race and fine tune things before the real racing begins," Sigsworth said.
