LU women fall in Winnipeg

The Bob FM shootout welcomed the Lakehead Thunderwolves not with a smile, but instead with a loss. Carolyn Fragale continued her hot start to the pre-season, dropping 22 points for the Wolves, who fell 70-67 to the Winnipeg Wesmen.

The Bob FM shootout welcomed the Lakehead Thunderwolves not with a smile, but instead with a loss.

Carolyn Fragale continued her hot start to the pre-season, dropping 22 points for the Wolves, who fell 70-67 to the Winnipeg Wesmen.
Katie Ulakovic had 14 points for the Wolves, who trailed 30-25 at the half.

Stephanie Kleysen and Lauren Anderson each had 17 for the victorious Wesmen. Kleysen added 17 rebounds and three assists.
LU coach Jon Kreiner isn’t reading too much into the loss.

"This is what pre-season basketball is all about. We played a great second half and played really hard and improved as a basketball team.

There were many opportunities for both teams to finish out the game and even though we fell just short there was certainly a bar set for our level of play. We need to build on our play against a very strong Regina squad tomorrow," he said.
