BURLINGTON, Ont. – Lakehead’s Jerika Baldin will play one final game to round out her university basketball career.

The Thunderwolves guard was selected to play in Saturday’s 11th annual OUA Women’s Basketball All-Star Game, which will be played at Waterloo’s Physical Athletics Complex.

Baldin led the OUA in assists, averaging 5.3 dishes per game. She also scored 7.2 points per night and led the Wolves on and off the court.

“I’m both excited and honoured to get the opportunity to play in the all-star game. I am so happy that I can represent Lakehead one last time. I look forward to the challenge and to be a part of this special day,” Baldin said in a release issued on Wednesday by the school's athletic department.

Coach Jon Kreiner called it a well-deserved honour.

“I am extremely happy for Jerika Baldin’s opportunity to play in the OUA All-Star game and that the OUA has allowed for her greatness to be honoured. It is especially exciting for the game to be played in Waterloo during the OBA’s as Jerika was a Tri-County Thunder Juel player and has played many games in this area as a high school player, club player and with the Thunderwolves, battling against the University of Waterloo and Laurier University," Kreiner said.

"Jerika’s legacy is leading the country three years in a row in assists per game so I am sure the rest of the all-stars will love playing with her."
